A Voice from the Wilderness
KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING: NETHERLANDS '24
5 - 15 February 2024
It's a wrap! The "Voice From The Wilderness" impact conversation tour.
Herewith a short summary...
A SESSION ON BEHALF OF FOUNDATION GREENDUSTRY Zeist, 14/Feb Take a look at www.greendustry.nl ... a fascinating project to green the concrete jungles of Netherlands. Wow can you imagine streets of green, shade and cool in summer, warmth in winter. Thank you to Hugo Kranenburg and all at Stichting Greendustry for the opportunity to connect and share a universal conversation, of, and from the heart. Wishing you well with your valuable work and creating awareness of the value of a green future. And look forward to connecting again soon. Thank you all for your warm hospitality and availability |
THE PENULTIMATE EVENT Vierhouten, 14/Feb A deeply meaningful strategic session with a special client. The conversation? What we can learn from the wild to navigate through change and the challenges it brings us. The photo is of master Suakhwe Bushman guide Cobra Kepile, who is a significant mentor. Thank you Pascal van Gool for the privilege. Also to Peter de Bruin |
A WALK IN THE PARK Apeldoorn Crown Domains, 11/Feb What a privilege to share my stories of (and from) the wild; our hearts. And to discover more inspiration from a group of amazing people. Nature and natural patterns are around us all at all times. To make ourselves available however, we need to slow down and focus inwardly. And be alert to each step we take. To honour the relationships between micro-organisms in the soil and the diversity of life that grows from them. How often to we take this fundamental interaction for granted? Perhaps if the trees provide us with wifi we may take more notice of the forest, but they don't. They only provide us with oxygen. Rather important i'd say. Oh, and also a redemptive space to find peace. What a day and thank you to all the walkers. To Boudewijn, Pascale and Sebas Roubroeks, your hospitality and friendship is amazing. The day was perfect.... amazing conversation, friendship, new connections, warm soup and warmer company!. |
NAVIGATING CHANGING LANDSCAPES WITHOUT FEAR
On behalf of The Ministry of Finance: Utrecht 8/Feb Finding the innovation to break flawed corporate patterns and integrate new rules of engagement ... with people and the environment as stakeholders. Surely no better way than re-discovering ourselves in nature. To find a roadmap with which to navigate through changing landscapes. Let's face the real elephant in the room, as fear along a new path, is often only imagined. It need not block momentum. |
DISCOVERING NATURE IN URBAN AMSTERDAM
With Nienke de Os/Foundation for Natural Leadership: Amsterdamse Bos, 8/Feb Why are stories of wild dog, rhino, elephant, the Kalahari and Bushmen trackers so relevant in the jungles of modern cities? Because they encourage a sense of wonder and curiosity ... the gateway to realising that the miracles of nature are in front of us at all times. How trees orientate toward the sunlight. How plants grow abundantly if left alone to nature's beautiful chaos. The sweetness of blossom-filled morning air indicates a change of season. Microscopic fungal networks distributing webs of nutrients. Moles providing airflow and mulching for the soil in diligent partnership. Woodpeckers feeding above. Patterns of inter-connection are evident in Amsterdam. Nature doing its thing right under our noses. Perhaps once we slow, and listen, we can notice this incredible vibrancy for what it is. A wonder. For once this occurs we reconnect ourselves with it, and recognise our fundamental dependance on these very patterns. |
INNOVATION FROM THE WILD
On behalf of the Outvie Mortgages Event: Utrecht, 6/Feb The mortgage sector as a change agent. The sector knows better than anyone what it is like to steer their organization towards a different future. What can we do as a sector to help solve the housing shortage and crucial climate issues? Change is constant in the wild. Nature’s patterns are of renewal and regeneration. The principles of growth, loss and change are all connected. Productivity and sustainability are the purpose. But in modern society, system change is a fearful space. Alan's stories trigger and encourage courage to see the elephant in the room differently. This is innovation from the wild. https://outvie.nl/conferenties/hypotheken-event/ |
CONVERSATION SESSIONS WITH PRIVATE CLIENTS Utrecht, Amsterdam, Apeldoorn: 7, 9, 10, 12/Feb Conversations from the heart with visionary business leaders, folks who understand the significance of integrating living principles into commerce. Patterns of the wild: renewal and inclusiveness. Patterns of the human spirit. What a privilege to be part of this; to offer ideas of innovation from Wilderness. |
More updates to follow soon ....
What's it all about? We are super excited to share that Alan will be returning to The Netherlands on an impact conversation and facilitation tour in Feb ’24.
He is travelling with stories from the wild that are relevant to us all; messages of hope, empathy, transference and inter-being. Conversations about change, transference and about integrating living patterns and principles into our mechanically-minded systems. Let's keep the conversation going!By importing and sharing the Wilderness Experience at formal venues, or outdoors on forest walks. These are not in fact not presentations nor lectures per se, but more 'conversations from the heart' whereby nature and our fundamental connection with the wild is platformed and facilitated.
A re-connection with Nature invites us home to the essential reality: that we all, regardless of career, culture or credit, are ultimately seeking peace and belonging in our lives. |
